BIOGRAPHY
Argyro Tsampazi is a dance researcher and choreographer based in Belfast, UK. Her research interests include dance, choreographic practices, practice as research, religion, and spirituality. She completed her PhD in Dance at Queen’s University Belfast, which investigated the effects of the application of Orthodox ascetic practices to choreographic processes and dance performance. She holds a Master of Arts in Choreography from Fonty's University in The Netherlands, a BA in Theology from Aristotle University in Greece, and a BA in Dance Teaching from the Greek Ministry of Culture.
She has worked as a dancer and dance teacher extensively throughout her career. She has taught contemporary dance, choreography, movement improvisation, ballet, repertoire, and dance for people with learning difficulties. In addition, she has choreographed various types of performances, including original contemporary pieces, ballet performances, musicals, and theater productions. She has also worked as an art director in dance schools and dance companies and as an artistic assessor for the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
